Amend HB 26-1326. Fix the PUC.

Decisions made by the Public Utility Commission (aka regulators) directly impacts your energy bills. The legislature can make it more accountable, transparent and effective, but only if they fix this bill first.

The Problem

HB 26-1326 started as a routine review to decide if this government program should continue. It became something else: more authority for a 3-member appointed body, no new accountability, no structural reforms. More power, same blind spots.

What We're Asking For

  • Expand the Commission to five members to better handle today’s energy demands; and ask them to show up for work and meet with Coloradans in person

  • Protect consumers from unnecessary costs by keeping key financial tools voluntary

  • Ensure accountability in program delivery by avoiding unnecessary third-party mandates

  • Improve transparency and predictability with clear timelines and decision standards

  • Strengthen legislative oversight through regular accountability to the Legislature to stop any power grabs and to control costs for consumers and businesses

Why It Matters â€‹

PUC decisions don't stay in the hearing room. They drive your electricity rates, gas prices, and telecom access. A sunset review should tighten accountability, not quietly expand authority.

These amendments do that. â€‹Urge your legislator to amend HB 26-1326. Take action today.
